Stay in the pocket with Lola!
Return to Alt/Jazz
Initially Gaining hype through the Jane and Finch Female Cypher, tomboy- glam sums up Lola Bunz' style. Born and raised in the Jane and Finch neighbourhood, this artist puts an interesting spin on rap that reflects her community with an element of rawness that allows listeners to relate on any level.
Being a poet as well as a song writer, Bunz uses her talents to channel her feelings through her songs, making it possible to catch a clear glimpse of her life and the world around her through her eyes.
"Hood Life", one of the tracks on her newest mixtape Wakeup Call perfectly portrays the struggles she has had trying to make her way to the top- which is where this Toronto artist is heading.
Seeping sex appeal without straying from staying true to herself, Bunz definitely raises the bar for her competition and is a fine role model for young women on the come up. Check out her song "Haters Out to Get Me" as well as her new music video "Like This".
Bunz is giving Toronto rappers a Wake Up Call, be sure to download her mixtape.
