Meet Jaicyea, an Egyptian-style (Raqs Sharqi) belly dancer who has carved out her own unique lane in the vibrant arts scene of Toronto, Canada. Since 2009, she has trained with world-renowned instructors in Egypt, Canada and the US, enriching her craft and developing a distinctive style that captivates audiences.

Jaicyea has performed and facilitated numerous events and concerts throughout the Greater Toronto Area, showcasing her talent at festivals like Youth Day at Yonge-Dundas Square, DESIFest, and Taste of the Danforth, Taste of the Middle East and AfterDark at the ROM. Her collaboration with Moskitto, an Arabic-Balkan fusion band, has further solidified her reputation, as they have taken the stage as honorary guests at prestigious venues such as the Aga Khan Museum and the Opera House.

With a natural flair for improvisation and choreography, Jaicyea blends traditional music with contemporary influences, making her performances truly one-of-a-kind. Most recently, Jaicyea had a solo residency at the Royal Ontario Museum and also performed with the Arabesque Arts Troupe in Dance Ontario Weekend and the Canadian Opera Company.

As both a dancer and instructor, she is deeply committed to highlighting the beauty and richness of Egyptian culture through workshops and musical experiences with artists of origin (Dr. George Sawa, Nada el Masriya, Nizar Chakra, Hale Adhami, Roula Said). She cares deeply about her community, serving on various boards that promote art and activism, and inspiring next generation of artists.
